Question

The questioner says: I delayed praying Isha a little and got menses. In this situation, when do I make up for the Isha Salah? Should I make it up as soon as I become pure from menses even if it is Asr time, or should I wait until the time of Isha comes? Actually, I have made it up as soon as I became pure during Asr time, is that correct?

Sheikh Ibn Baz
Firstly, it is not obligatory upon you to make it up if you were not careless. Menses came at the start or during the time of Salah, and you were not careless, then it is not mandatory upon you to make it up. However, if you made it up, there would be no problem. Making up an obligatory Salah doesn't have a prohibited time. If you made it up as soon as you became pure during Asr time or during any time, there would be no problem with that. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever sleeps through a prayer or forgets it then he should pray it as soon as he remembers it. That is the only expiation for it." So, making up an obligatory Salah doesn't have a prohibited time. However, if the woman gets her menses or nifas (postnatal bleeding) during the time of Salah while she wasn't careless, it is not mandatory upon her to make it up.
