Question
Questioner: I am currently residing in Riyad and I work on a farm nearby the Masjid. A theft of sheep happened in our place during the daytime. So, the owner of the farm prevented me from praying in the Masjid and ordered me to pray all of the five prayers on the farm to guard the farm and what is in it so that theft doesn’t happen again. Is my Salah (prayer) in the condition that I have mentioned permissible or not? May Allah reward you with goodness.

Sheikh Ibn Baz
Sheikh: In the name of Allah, Ar-Rahman, Ar-Rahim, All Praise & Thanks be to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his Family, his Companions, and those who follow his guidance. As to what proceeds,
For indeed, Hirasah (being a watchman/security guard) is a legislated excuse for not attending the Jama'ah (Congregation). There’s no blame upon you regarding that.
So, the watchman in a farm, shop, house, or other than that, is excused from attending the congregational (prayer) due to the dire need of safeguarding/keeping watch. And there’s no problem in that, if Allah wills.
