The Ruling of Cutting or Scraping One’s Tooth

Question

If one of the molars is longer than the rest, is it permissible for me to cut or scrape it so that I can make it equal to the rest? Please give us a fatwa, may Allah reward you.

Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen

If he is harmed by this longer molar tooth, then there is nothing wrong with him shortening it and cutting the excess from it to remove the harm from him. Likewise, if he is in pain from it because of its protrusion, then there is nothing wrong with cutting the excess from it so that the harm is removed. Otherwise, he should keep it as it is.
