Sheikh Ibn Al-Uthaymeen
If he wants to endow, for example, a small house, and he said: "I endow my house" and pointed to the big one, but it is contrary to what (he has intended) in his heart, his intention remains. It’s not according to what he mistakenly said with his tongue. Also, if an ignorant person who does not know the difference between Umrah and Hajj, performed Hajj with the people and said: "Labayka Hajjan" (Here I am, Oh Allah, for Hajj), but he intended to perform Umrah, he makes Tamattu’ until Hajj; for he gets what he intended as long as he intends it. He wants to perform Umrah, but he said Labayka Hajjan with these people. He gets what he intended, and what he mistakenly said doesn’t affect it. Also, if a man says to his wife: “You are divorced”, and he intended that she is divorced from restriction not from marriage, he gets what he intended and his wife isn’t divorced by that.
