He says: Honorable Sheikh, may Allah grant you success. There are some who say: that a minor sin becomes major if you persist on it. And music is a minor sin, and persisting on it makes it a major sin. Is this a correct saying?

Yes, this has been said by many scholars. Surely, persisting on a minor sin makes it a major sin. That's because if he insists on it, he would take it lightly, so it becomes a major sin. Therefore, it is said: "There is no minor sin with persistence, and no major sin with making istighfar (seeking forgiveness)" there is no major sin with making istighfar, and no minor sin with persistence. It is obligatory to repent to Allah from minor and major sins.
