He says: May Allah preserve you sheikh, in our time, people have turned to Nasheeds (chanting) in forums and venues. What is your opinion regarding this matter Sheikh, since the number of those who read the Qur’an has decreased and chanting Nasheeds has become the (main) source of income?

Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan
This is not permissible. This chanting is singing and songs, and singing is the voice of the Shaytan (Satan). "And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice" (Al-Isra:64). Allah says to the Shaytan :“And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice” (Al-Isra:64). And the voice of Shaytan is singing. It’s not permissible to use singing in gatherings, parties, or other occasions; what they call Sheilat. This is all Haram (forbidden) and not permissible.
