Question

May Allah do good to you, the questioner says: There are those who say to some people, “You Munafiq, you Jew”, to make the people laugh. So, is this considered from accusing others of kufr (disbelief)?

Yes. Whoever says to a person, “You Jew”, while he isn’t, the statement returns to the one who said it. And whoever says to someone “You Kafir”, and the one being addressed is not a kafir, this kufr returns to the one who says it. And whoever says to someone “You enemy of Allah”, and he isn’t an enemy of Allah, this label returns to the one who says it. And one mustn’t make people laugh a reason for ruining his religion. The Prophet (ﷺ) informed us that a man would utter a word (displeased to Allah) to make the people laugh, not thinking it will yield such a result (i.e., displeasure of Allah), but as a result of this, he will fall down into the hellfire for a distance greater than the distance between the east and the west. We ask Allah for safety.
