What Is The Ruling of Working in Liquor Factories?

Question

This is a letter from a Moroccan brother, Faris Ahmad, who works in Belgium. There are several questions in his letter, one of them says, “What is the Islamic ruling regarding the Muslim who works in the West in a factory that produces intoxicants? Should he continue his work or quit?”

It is not permissible for him to work in a factory that produces alcohol, because he is considered a wine-presser and a helper in spreading and drinking alcohol. So, it is not permissible for him to stay in this factory. Rather, he should only seek a permissible job so that his Rizq (livelihood/sustenance) is Halal, and his earnings are pure.
