Some (Islamic) speakers, may Allah guide them, say that the word Salafi (one who follows our pious predecessors) divides people, so don’t say I’m Salafi..

Yes, yes, the word Salafi divides people. It divides those who are Salafis and the people of deviance and Bid’a (innovation within religion). Praise be to Allah; this is a virtue that one follows the way (creed) of the Salaf (pious predecessors). {And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And it was not for us to associate anything with Allah} (Yusuf: 38). Following the Salaf on Tawheed (oneness of Allah) and Aqidah (creed) is praise and honor. For we are proud, and we ask Allah to make us on the way (creed) of the Salaf and make us steadfast upon it. Yes. Even if whosoever walks away (from us) … We don’t amass people. We don’t amass people. We call them to the way of the Salaf and correct Aqidah (creed). If they comply, then praise be to Allah. And if they want to disassociate themselves, then leave them to what they have chosen for themselves. Yes.
