Sheikh Muhammed Hisham Tahiri
Noah said to his son: {O my son, come aboard with us and be not with the disbelievers} [Hud: 42] If he had followed his father's statement, he would have been among the survivors. However, he left Tawheed (Oneness of Allah) and became fully dependent on the means and said: {I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water} [Hud: 43]. Hearts got attached to the means and forgot the Creator of those means. These sick, polluted souls! Today, with great regret, how many people have their hearts attached to means? How many? (This question is asked) to show that they’re a lot. This is the reality of people. Their hearts are attached to their salaries, their hearts are attached to their wives, to their children. (they’d say) My son I teach you today so that tomorrow you will support me. Mashallah, great parenting (sarcastically). Is this the right way? Why don't you teach him for Allah? Where is Tawheed? Why not raise him for the sake of Allah? Where is Tawheed? Why raise him for the Dunya (this inferior life)? Because hearts have become attached to the means. Brothers, Tawheed is not limited to only learning that Tawheed is three divisions, Tawheed is greater than that. Therefore, we should read Kitab Al-Ubudiya (the book of servitude) by Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. This great book that introduces us to ourselves and introduces us to the right of Allah has upon us.
