The Benefits of Visiting the Sick

And in visiting the sick there are benefits: Benefits for the visitor and benefits for the sick person. As for the visitor, he is fulfilling the right of his Muslim brother. (That’s) because it is the right of your Muslim brother that you visit him if he becomes ill. Also, the one who visits the sick is like the one who is harvesting the fruits of paradise until he returns. In addition, in it, there is a reminder for the visitor that Allah has blessed him with good health. (That’s) because if he sees the sick person and the illness he is in, then he looks at himself and sees a state of good health and wellness, he will realize the value of the blessing of good health which Allah has granted him. (And) because something is known by its opposite. It also brings love and compassion, for if a person visits the sick, this visit will always be remembered in the heart of the sick person. Every time he remembers the visit, he loves the visitor. And this is very evident when the sick person recovers and meets you. You will find him grateful to you and happy about this. As for the sick person, it has benefits for him because it comforts him, relieves him and removes whatever stress and worry he has from the illness.
