Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, ‘Umar al-Faruq, ‘Uthman Dhu al-Nurayn, ‘Ali bin Abi Talib, the rest of the six from the ten promised with Jannah, and the rest of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ. No Mu’min hates them, no pious person is hostile towards them, and no intellectual person belittles them. Rather, the Prophet ﷺ testified to them that they are the best of generations, as in the authentic Hadith from the Hadith of ‘Imran bin Husayn and ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with them, that the Prophet ﷺ said, “The best of people is the generation in which I was sent,” these are the companions, “then those who follow them,” those are the Tabi’un, “then those who follow them.” and these are the followers of the Tabi’un. And the difference of opinion is in the narration of ‘Imran, as he does not remember whether the Prophet ﷺ mentioned it two or three times. So, a Muslim must love them, ask Allah to be pleased with them, and have trust in them. For indeed Allah did not choose these people except for His Knowledge, the Most High, that they were the most trustworthy to exist of those who were at that time after the prophets. And he mustn’t be hostile towards them, or belittle them, or slander them, he who hopes for Allah’s Forgiveness and Mercy. And only an immoral, evil, wicked heretic slanders them, or an idiot with vile manners etc. So, let the Muslim be keen, whenever the Companions are mentioned, to ask Allah to be pleased with them, for Allah says about them in his Noble Book: “And those who came after them say: "Our Rabb! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Iman, and put not in our hearts any hatred against those who have believed. Our Rabb! You are indeed full of kindness, Most Merciful.” [Al-Ḥashr: 10] I said this word as a reminder for myself and as a reminder for you. And I hope that I, the listeners, and the viewers be from those who benefit from the reminders.
