The Reward of Janazah Prayer

Question: Why is a woman exempted from the Janazah prayer and from following it; And who gets the reward of the Janazah prayer, the one who prays upon it, the one prayed upon, or both and by how much? Sheikh: The one praying gets the reward of prayer, and dua is for the one prayed upon. It is hoped for him that Allah accepts the dua that is made for him. The intent of praying upon him, is to make dua and seek mercy and intercession for him. And the woman is not exempted from the Janazah prayer, she prays on the Janazah. However, she doesn't follow it to the grave, she should not go out along with it to the grave. As for praying upon it, she prays upon the Janazah with the people. If she prays upon the Janazah, she gets rewarded like the men who pray upon it. But, she doesn't follow it to the grave.
