The Gift of Ilm

As you and I know, Allah Almighty facilitates Ilm (Islamic knowledge) for some people. He provides them with different sorts of means for gaining that knowledge in a way that He does not do with others, as meeting with sheikhs. This isn’t (achieved) except by the will of Allah Almighty. Accordingly, it was mentioned in the Hadith or in some narrations of the Hadith: "When Allah wishes good for anyone, He bestows upon him the Fiqh (comprehension) of the religion". The Prophet peace be upon him said "When Allah wishes to open anyone’s heart, He bestows upon him the Fiqh (comprehension) of the religion". So, it's an openness of the heart. Allah opens your heart to long for Ilm (Islamic knowledge), so Allah Almighty’s gift is to open your heart for Ilm. Some of Allah the Exalted’s gifts are making your heart long for knowledge, endearing knowledge to you, making it easy for you, facilitating paths to it, and then granting you that knowledge that He Himself makes you succeed in. Therefore, make it a habit to ask Allah Almighty for Ilm in the favored times of Dua (supplication) in which you believe that your heart is longing for Allah, and that you are in need of Him, Glory is to Him, so that He grants you the useful Ilm.
