Did the Wahhabis Distort the Introduction of "Aqeedat Al-Salaf" by Ibn Abi Zaid Al-Qairawani?

the questioner says: Some of the late Malikis (followers of Imam Malik) spoke about this introduction and said: The Wahhabis (followers of sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab) distorted it. The Sheikh: They (the late Malikis) are the ones who distorted it, the Wahhabis did not distort it. Those who distorted it are the late followers of the Maliki Madhab (school of fiqh). They explained it according to what agrees with their desires. However, the old explanations are good, unlike its newer explanations which have a lot of distortion. They want it to be in line with their Madhab and Aqeedah (creed).
