Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen
If a person intends to do a good deed, but was prevented from doing it, then the reward of what he intended is written for him. However, if he used to do it in the absence of an excuse, i.e., when he was able to do it, he was doing it and then became unable to do it later, then the reward for the deed will be written for him in full. (That’s) because the Prophet ﷺ said: “When a worshipper of Allah suffers from illness or sets on a journey, he is credited with the equal of whatever good works he used to do when he was healthy or at home.”
