Is it permissible to celebrate the Prophet’s Birthday?

I say that the celebration of the mawlid (Prophet’s birthday) is not known about the Salaf (pious predecessors). The Rightly Guided Caliphs never did it. The Companions never did it. Those who followed them in goodness never did it, neither did the imams of Muslims after them. Here we ask: Do we have more reverence for the Messenger ﷺ than them? Answer, folks, no. Do we love the Prophet ﷺ more than them? No. If this is the case, then we must follow their example and not celebrate the Prophet's birthday because it is a bid’a (innovation within religion).
