A Person Gets Rewarded for What He Intended

The reward is written for the person based on his intention, Even if the action ended up contrary to what he intended. And this principle has many branches. Some are mentioned by the scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, That if a man gave zakah to a person thinking he was worthy of zakah, but it turned out that he is rich and not worthy of zakah, His zakah would be correct. That is because he intended to give it to someone who deserves it, so he gets what he intended.
