In this, there is proof that when a person does not hasten to perform a good deed, he is worthy of being deprived of it, as Allāh, the Exalted said: { وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفۡـِٔدَتَهُمۡ وَأَبۡصَـٰرَهُمۡ كَمَا لَمۡ یُؤۡمِنُوا۟ بِهِۦۤ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةࣲ وَنَذَرُهُمۡ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ } [سُورَةُ الأَنۡعَامِ: ١١٠] "And We will turn away their hearts and their eyes just as they refused to believe in it the first time. And We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly." (Sūrah al-An'ām:110) Therefore, if someone learns the truth and does not accept and submit to it from the first moment, it (the truth) may slip away from him and he may be deprived of it, we seek refuge with Allah. Just like, if a person is not patient with a calamity from its beginning, he will be deprived of its reward, because of the statement of the Prophet ﷺ : "Patience is only at the first stroke of calamity" (Sahīh al-Bukhāri). O my brother, you must hasten to do good deeds. Do not postpone (performing the deed), then days go by and you become unable to do it; you become lazy, and the Shayṭān and desires overpower you, so you postpone (it).
