Sheikh Saleh Al-Luhaydan
So, for example: the two Rak'as of the Duha (forenoon). The Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned that each morning, 360 alms (Sadaqah) are due for each person, daily.
So, the companions said, "not everyone of us is capable of that." So, he said, "In every Takbirah (saying Allahu Akbar) is a Sadaqah (charity), in every praise (saying Al-hamdu lillah) is a Sadaqah, in every declaration of the glorification of Allah (saying Subhan Allah) is a Sadaqah, in every declaration that He is the Only One deserving of worship (saying La ilaha illallah) is a Sadaqah, commanding to that which is good is a Sadaqah, forbidding evil is a Sadaqah, helping a person by lifting his luggage is a Sadaqah, helping a person in his need is a Sadaqah, and directing someone who has lost his way is a Sadaqah."
Then he said, "and refraining from harming other people is a Sadaqah."
Then he said, "and the two Rak'as of the Duha prayer (Salah) suffice all of that."
Two Rak'as we perform, or two Rak'as a person performs at Duha, are equal to 360 Sadaqah! Shall we follow this?! And the [time of] Duha is from the time when the sun has risen to the height of a spear till it’s directly overhead at noon.
No doubt that the best Duha prayer is in the middle of the morning, as narrated in Sahih Muslim: "The prayer of those who are oft returning [to Allah] is offered when the young weaned camels feel the heat of the sand."
The young weaned camels: i.e., the new born young camels. Their hooves are lean, if they walk on the heated sand, its harm will be apparent on them. This is the best time to perform the two Rak'as of Duha.
However, sometimes a person might not be able to perform it at that time. He might need to perform it early. So, if the sun rises to the height of a spear, he prays 2 Rak'as.
He might need to delay it, so he prays it before the time ends by half an hour for example.
However, if the sun is directly overhead at noon, it is in the prohibited time.
