Reward of Fasting Six Days of Shawwal

It’s reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever fasts Ramadan, then follows it up with (fasting) six days of Shawwal, it’s as though he has fasted a year.” [Reported by Imam Muslim in his Sahih] These six (fasts) do not have any specific days. Rather, the believer can choose from the entire month. So, if he wishes, he can fast in its beginning, middle or end. If he wants, he can split it, so, he fasts some in the beginning, some in the middle, and some in the end. The matter is not restricted. All Praise and Thanks be to Allah. If he hastens to follow it up in the beginning of the month, then that would be better and from the means of hastening towards doing good.
