How Can We Identify The Callers To Misguidance?

Moderator: The following question is from the student Ali Jabir. He thanks Your Eminence and says: “How can we identify the callers to misguidance in this age, an age which is facing waves of Fitnah, especially on social media?” Shiekh: Firstly, you have to find out where they studied and who they took knowledge from, this is the first thing. Secondly, you have to find out the Manhaj (methodology) they follow and who they take as examples (who should be followed in this age). Who do they imitate? Do they imitate the Aʾimmah (i.e., Imams) of Islam and the Ulama (Scholars) of Islam? Or do they imitate other than them? Hence, it is necessary to distinguish these people from others by finding out where they took knowledge from, who they studied with and who they were brought up with. So that their foundation, methodology and biography become apparent.
