May we talk politics?
The general public is not meant to chew the rag about affairs of state, the politics of rulers.
Politics has its own people. And plates and pots have their people (i.e. not everyone should indulge in politics).
If the affairs of state are subject to public gossip, this life is doomed to corruption
because a layperson is lacking in knowledge and judgment and has a limited perspective on life.
As a proof of this, Allah the Exalted said, “And when there comes to them information about [public] security or fear, they spread it around” (4:83).
And they spread it, Then He said, “But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it would have known about it” (4:83).
So, this proves that laypeople cannot compare with people of authority and those of sound judgment and trustworthy opinions.
Discussing affairs of state does not belong in public forums.
Whosoever believes that the general public should have a say in state affairs alongside those of authority has indeed gone far astray
and deviated from the path of the Prophet’s companions, the rightly-guided Caliphs, and the Salaf (early Muslim generations)
