How to Gain Allah’s Reward by Spending on Yourself and Family

So, he (the Prophet ﷺ) said, "You will be rewarded for whatever you spend for Allah's sake even if it were a morsel which you put in your wife's mouth." meaning that even the morsel which you feed your wife, you would be rewarded for it if you intended the Face of Allah. Even though spending on one’s wife is obligatory - if you don’t spend (on her) she would say "spend or divorce me" - nevertheless, if you spend on your wife, seeking by it the Face of Allah, Allah will reward you for that. Likewise, if you spend on your children, (or) if you spend on your mother and father. In fact, if you spend on yourself, seeking by it the Face of Allah, Allah will reward you for it.
