Sheikh Ibn Baz
The statement of Allah: {O you who believe! Enter into Islam perfectly} [Al-Baqarah (2):208]. And the statement of Allah: {Have you seen those (hypocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you} [Al-Nisa (4):60]. And the statement of Allah: {Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects); you (O Muhammad) have nothing to do with them in the least} [Al-An'am (6):159]. This is the obligation – entering into Islam completely and not [entering only into] some of it. "O you who believe! Enter perfectly into Al-Silm," meaning, into Islam. And He says: {Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you (O Muhammad) have nothing to do with them in the least} [Al-An'am (6):159]. And He says: {Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers (by believing in Allah and disbelieving in His Messengers) saying, ‘We believe in some but reject others,’ and wish to adopt a way in between; they are indeed the disbelievers, truly} [Al-Nisa (4):150-151]. Therefore, the obligation is entering into all of Islam. Meaning, it is obligatory upon the Muslim to adhere to Islam completely, to the Salah (Prayer), Zakah (Obligatory charity), Siyam (fasting in Ramadan), Hajj (Pilgrimage), and Jihad (Striving in the cause of Allah). He shouldn't say that “I just pray, I don't give Zakah” or “I just give Zakah, I don't fast.” No! It is obligatory to adhere to all of Islam.
