It is evident from the saying of Allah, the Almighty and Exalted (the interpretation of the meaning): {And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him} [Ali 'Imran (3):85]. And from His saying, the Almighty and Exalted (the interpretation of the meaning): {And let those who oppose the Messenger's commandment (i.e., his Sunnah, legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements, etc.) beware, lest some fitnah befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them} [An-Nur (24):63]. And from His saying (the interpretation of the meaning): {And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)} [Al-Hashr (59):7]. So, it is obligatory upon the entire ummah (Muslim nation) to follow the Prophet ﷺ. If Musa, 'Isa, or others were alive, they wouldn’t have any choice except to follow him because he was sent to all of mankind. {Say (O Muhammad ﷺ) O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah} [Al-A'raf (7):158]. Therefore, what is obligatory upon all the ummah, men and women, Arab and non-Arab, jinn and human, is to follow him ﷺ and to obey his religion/legislation in accordance with what has come in the great Qur'an and the pure sunnah. They are not exempted from that [i.e., following the Prophet ﷺ].
